Getting your home ready for Winter

It’s time to get ready for winter.  We have already experienced a few weeks of temps below freezing and you may have experienced some frozen pipes.  As the cold air will approach again, we need for you to get your property ready.  If you have a crawl space air vents on your home, please make sure that these are closed.  If you are in a mobile home, make sure that the underpinning is in place.  If you are going to be out of town during the Winter months make sure that you do not turn off the heat, keep it on and no lower than 60 degrees.

If it is expected to get below 32 degrees, leave a trickle of water running from the faucet.  Keep the cabinets under the sink open so the heat can get through.  Make sure you have oil in tank and during extreme cold the furnace needs to fun.  Electric heaters will not keep your pipes from freezing.  Thank you for your cooperation and you will be glad you made the above precautions so you are not without water during extreme temperatures.
